Bought this for working out to condition myself in functional fitness. Only fill it with sand if you plan to use it outside, because it kicks up sand dust inside the house when you use it. I replaced the sand with pea gravel in the included bags and put tire shred mulch around those bags to provide some cushion if I drop it on the floor or on my feet. It weighs approximately 75-76 pounds like this. The bag is sturdy and the handles allow you to use it at many different angles and exercises.Overall, I am very happy with it, but wish it was a little bigger because I really wanted bag weight of 100 pounds so I can do the Szatstrength or Brute Force Training bag routines.

What can I say?! Full body exercise equipment, two bags for sand (I was able to fit 73 LBs all in, divided between the two bags). It is a tight fit for the two bags. Sturdy, and the handle designs are intuitive. It’s a great product, perfect for the price. These things don’t come with sand, but Home Depot can remedy that for you. I use it everyday, usually after a heavy weight session. Motions: Kettle bell, squats, presses, rotate swings…it’s great. It’s very versatile and you’ll probably use it every day. I’ve only had it a month and I don’t see myself stop using it. Getting the wife one now, as she is super jealous 🙂 Stop reading this and buy one already!

Quality: Well designed and rugged. Have been tossing the olive green one around in the grass and such for a few weeks and haven’t noticed any staining or rips/snags. I drag it through the grass doing bear crawls/spidermans, throw it around like a medicine ball, hoist it over my head in power cleans, etc. None of the stitching is having issues. All seams are well reinforced and stitching is top notch.Workout: This product is great! As the sand shifts it causes you to use your stabilizing muscles and adjust on the fly. You can curl it, throw it, drag it. Put it over your shoulders and lunge with it. Carry it and run with it. Extremely versatile and heavy. I used to work out heavily but life pulled me out of the gym. I put fifty pounds of sand in this and spend about 30-60 minutes 3/4 nights a week outside working with this. The girlfriend wants the smaller bag and has had fun using this product with just the small bag in it (not ideal as the bag is really loose and floppy, but it would work long term if you need two styles and are on a budget.)

If there was a word better than awesome then it would apply too! I have used other sandbags before and none of them can hold a candle to Brute Force. The quality of the bag is second to none and everything about it is tier 1. It is rugged as heck and inspires confidence in it as soon as you start beating on it and yourself. The handles are comfortable and placed perfectly, the materials and stitching are solid and it is sized just right. The filler bags are equally of high quality and fit perfectly into the bag itself. This bag feels almost indestructible, unless you drag it down the street behind your truck or set it on fire, it is going to last for a long time. It may cost a few dollars more than some other bags but is worth every cent and you get what you pay for. Good gear is not cheap and cheap gear is usually not good! The customer service at Brute Force is equally as impressive. I had a minor shipping issue and with one call Brute Force attended to and took care of the issue immediately. No phone trees, no unanswered messages just prompt assistance. Can’t thank Brute Force enough not only for the great service and the great gear but also for their unwavering support of our Military, Law Enforcement and Fire Fighting circles!!”Train with Sand!!” “Pray for peace…..but prepare for war!!”

The whole notion of sandbag workouts is a revelation. And the Brute Force Athlete Sandbag is a fantastic expression of that revelation!! Having worked out with Garage Fit sandbag, which is a pretty nice product, I had a bit of basis for comparison. I chose the Brute Force based on the nature of some of the reviews, and also some of the design features (and yes, I’m provincial enough such that it being a Colorado product was a factor in my purchase decision, albeit a minor one). When it arrived it was OBVIOUS that it was an extremely well made bag – both the main bag and the sand bags themselves. The velcro on the sandbags is in itself an “olympic event” just to get them open. That is extremely important, of course, because their ability to retain the sand is hugely important. I have worked out with the Brute Force Athlete Sandbag twice, and it is AWESOME!! The different handle types, and their different placements around the bag make this an extremely versatile workout tool. You will not be disappointed with this product. The quality of the materials and the workmanship is truly outstanding.

Great product. I have a weird work schedule during the month of August which makes it hard to get to the gym. I’ve been keeping this in the back of my car and getting it out anytime I can get a workout in. Here are my thoughts:Pros:It’s tough – a month of punishing use often on concrete and still looks brand new.Easy to switch weights – so it can be 25-50-75lbs depending on what I want.Lots of handles so there are lots of potential movements.Handles are a great size and soft – I don’t do really long workouts (20-40min) but my hands don’t get too sore from the handles.ConsIt’s more of a wish than a con – but wish there was more variation possibilities in weight – my wife would like to use it but the jump from 25-50 is too much for some movements.Overall – a great bag at a great price. You get what you pay for and this is an overall fantastic bag.

I’ve been using sandbags for training and workouts for more than 5 years. I decided to get this sandbag because my old one was leaking sand and had seen better days. I’ve had my Brute Force Sandbag since the beginning of August 2016. I have used it in probably 75% of my workouts and I workout 4 or 5 times a week. The sandbag is very durable and has not leaked any sand at all. I actually did a 1 mile sandbag carry today and didn’t even think about the fact that sand didn’t get all over me. I’ve also done a few of the Brute Force workouts from the app and they included crawls with the sandbag along with shoulder slams and the sandbag still has not leaked. If you are looking for a sandbag that is durable and doesn’t leak sand, this is the sandbag for you. The different array of handle positions is also very nice and it makes it even more versatile. I do a lot of OCR events (Spartan Race and Battlefrog/RIP) and as such, I use the sandbag a lot to get used to heavy and awkward carries and this sand bag is perfect for that kind of stuff.

To be honest, this is quite expensive for “just a bag”, which is the only reason I gave it a 4-star rating. I bought the 25-75lb bag for $130, which is a hard pill to swallow considering it is literally just a bag that you workout with and there are other options out there for half the price. But I had tried a Brute Force bag prior to purchasing and knew the quality that I was getting, I didn’t want to risk buying a cheap, off brand only to ultimately come back and purchase the Brute Force. I can’t speak to the build quality of the cheap brands, however I can in regards to the Brute Force one. This bag is definitely built well. The last thing I wanted to do was spend the money only to have the thing start falling apart after a few uses. After having this bag for over a month now, it appears to hold up very well. I use it for about 4-5 workouts a week, which when using with the Brute Force app and their daily workouts, are some of the best workouts I have ever done. There are multiple handles to accommodate various grips/lifts/workouts and makes it very comfortable to use. Having slammed this thing down, drug it across the ground and consistently using it, there has been no sand leaking out or any sign of wear/damage that I can see. I have about 45lbs in mine right now it is holding up strong. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Brute Force bag to anyone. It is definitely expensive ( a bit too expensive for what it is) but you won’t have to worry about it falling apart on you and you will get an incredible workout with it.

I have a GORUCK simple sandbag but was reluctant to buy their traditional handled sandbag due to cost for a single weight bag. I loved the idea of the Brute Force and being able to adjust the weight. However, in practice this is not as good as it seems. I filled the smaller bag to 30 pounds and there was a still a lot of room in the filler bag and in the main bag was incredibly loose. In fairness, BF does say the bag works best at 50-70 pounds–take this advice to heart. The handle positioned are good–could have been more comfortable and strong, but they are sufficient. What led me to return this is the fact that sand dust was coming out through the main bag when I would drop the bag (drop, not slam). I thought I was imagining it, but then I open the main bag and there was sand inside the bag and there was sand leaking through the seams of the filler. It wasn’t pouring out, but it was significant enough after just a week or simple use (clean and press, squats, thrusts, getups) that it didn’t bode well. No, I wasn’t using play sand or anything super fine). I returned this kit and and back on team GORUCK. for my sandbag use.

I just want to start off by saying im in Law Enforcement and a specialized unit. Physical condition is a big priority in me doing my job duties. I was reading about sandbag workouts online and how well they condition your body for everyday task. I did a little research and came across this bag the price seemed a little steep but I believe in buy once cry once. When this bag showed up and I took it out of the package I noticed the quality right away the canvas type material they use is very strong and the bladders are made of the same material and they close by a flap that Velcros and then flips again and Velcros once more. I have tossed thrown dropped stepped on this bag with no sighs of wear or sand coming out at all. The zippers are the good ykk zippers so you know they will last the life of the bag. If you go directly to their website I think they offer discounts to law enforcement and public safety. i highly recommend this bag and these workouts are extremity hard.
