Directions

I add the unflavored to my morning protein smoothie and other that having a green shake it is very good. No stevia which actually was a selling point. All in all I like it very well. It has loads of good things to enhance my nutrition.

I don’t even remember how many times I’ve purchased this, but it’s been a lot. I have this order on auto-ship since it’s become such a staple in my overall diet. I was researching the best greens powders to use and this one kept popping up. The original flavor does not contain any stevia or added sugars and it also contains a variety of different fruits, vegetables, greens, and probiotics.I mix one scoop into a glass of water with an electric mixer and it breaks up very easily.It does taste like straight up grass water, but I’ve gotten so accustomed to the taste that it doesn’t even phase me anymore. I actually look forward to it LOL. I’ve read that the flavored ones taste better, but I always buy the original since I don’t want anything with stevia in it (sometimes it can cause bloating).As for my gut health (which is what I initially bought this for), I do think it helps clear up my stomach. I noticed that it reduced my bloating and made it easier to go to the bathroom. I like to drink it in the morning after I’ve had my water and it makes a huge difference. It also makes me feel refreshed and healthy as well. If you’re in the market for a great greens powder, I would highly recommend this!

EDIT: I added an extra star as I found an easier way to fix the flavor. I add 1/4 t vitamin C powder per serving. The extra acid completely resolves the cloying sweetness. It’s still sweet, but in a much more pleasant mellow way. I have yet to try the original flavor, but I would consider buying the Apple flavor again.I wanted to buy the plain version, but they were out. The apple version is disgustingly sweet (why do they always make things so sweet?!!! Health supplement consumers are not sugar addicts!). I am able to finish the jar by adding the juice of a whole lemon to each drink (1 scoop). Fortunately I have a lemon tree just outside my door. It’s not an ideal solution but helps a lot. Otherwise the product seems good, and the flavor (minus the sweetness) is fine. Smells fresh, which is what is probably the most important factor in a product like this. I will repurchase when the plain is available.

I workout daily, eat very clean, (anti inflammatory diet), and make protein shakes after my workouts. I started doing my own finger pricks and using tests from Everlywell type places and it took FOREVER to get the blood amount needed. I had been told in the past my blood was thick. I started doing reading on what I could do to thin my blood a little. I definitely do not want a blood clot! While i don’t think this is a total cure, since adding this to my shakes I’ve taken blood tests and it’s become a lot easier to get the amount of blood needed. It’s not dripping uncontrollably (as in very thin), but it’s not as thick as it was before adding this to my shakes. I’ve also noticed more energy, skin is clearer and my vitamin levels are better!I looked at a lot of brands, a lot, and I decided to get this one for a few reasons. I’ve had good luck with the brand Garden of Life. I know their products are clean and do not come with added fillers. The list of digestive enzymes, probiotics, vitamins, and other items were more than other brands. The only items I wish it had that some other green juices include is moringa, Spirulina, chlorophyll and chlorella. Instead, I add these separately.I got the chocolate flavor. Alone I am not a fan at all. When added to my shake I can still taste it a little but not as much. I’m not a fan of the flavor. If I were to take this alone I’d definitely get the original.

I have been using Garden of Life Green Superfood supplement for several years. I try to have it everyday…or at least every other day (because this stuff gets expensive!!). I have also used the Alkalyzing and Detoxifying blend and I like both of them just fine. I usually use the superfood powder in conjunction with Vega One Protein & Greens in the chocolate flavor. In the three or so years that I have been using this product and having my smoothie almost everyday, I think I’ve been sick–maybe–twice. And both times it was a fairly minor head cold. That’s it. If I miss my smoothie for a few days, my body will tell me so. I can feel the difference. This stuff is just that good.I have seen a lot of reviews that complain about the taste. I have developed a recipe with this stuff that is delicious and I am happy to share…I have a Ninja and I just use the single serving smoothie cups that came with it. I start with half a BANANA, a few chunks of PINEAPPLE (fresh or frozen–I mostly use fresh. It’s a pain in the ass, but in the long run it’s cheaper to chop and freeze it yourself), then I throw in a few frozen whole STRAWBERRIES. Then I fill the cup with CRANBERRY JUICE almost to the fill line. Blend all that together first. Then open the lid and add your greens powder (and in my case, protein powder as well–I always use chocolate. Really hate the vanilla.)Blend it all together one more time and your smoothie is done. Takes a grand total of about 6 minutes. And it’s really good. the cranberry juice has enough punch to mask the “greens” flavor so that it’s not bad. And the pineapple gives it a sweetness. For me the taste is very refreshing. Don’t get me wrong, you can still tell that there’s green stuff in your glass, but it’s not harsh at all and your palate will easily adapt. Taste was one of my initial concerns when I started several years ago, I knew that if I didn’t like it, there was no way I’d stick with it. More than 3 years later, I’m still drinking my vegetables almost every single day and I love it. For variations on flavor…cherries are good, raspberries, blueberries. I like the mix of strawberry and mango as well. But no matter what berries I use, I’ve always got three base ingredients: Banana (gives it a smooth consistency), pineapple (just adds a fresh, zesty sweetness to the flavor), and cranberry juice (masks the “greens” flavor). Trust me, this works. And if you don’t have any bananas on hand, try yogurt. Smooth texture is key. The taste is a little different, but it’s still really good.Hope this helps some folks! First, I need to point out something to Garden of Life that was distressing to me about the delivery of this product. You know this is a product that is temperature sensitive in that it has live probiotic foods in it and foods whose nutritional contend are sensitive to too much heat…Sadly the box containing the product was put on my front deck in direct sun, and was out there for, I’m guessing, about 2 hours before I discovered it. Of course the delivery driver could not know what was in the package so I don’t blame him, but I think Garden of Life needs to do something to alert drivers to the sensitivity of this product. Literally, it was hot in my hand when I removed it from the box and remained that way for several minutes. And I know that destroyed nutrients in the product. One of my reasons for buying this product is that it is a living product, not dead organic matter! So now, my order is dead from that exposure to extreme heat and I feel like I can’t get the full benefit from the product due to that loss. Something needs to be done so that deliveries are not left in direct sunlight like that! Drivers can be ALERTED Regarding this! Please get this safeguard in place, would you?Aside from my concern the product has been compromised by the heat, I’ve been using it for 5 days and, though it’s a bit risky to give a 5 star rating so soon, I’m very happy with the product as far as how it tastes and how it mixes in water. All green products, such as this, do have some mixing issues so it isn’t perfect but it is definitely okay how well it mixes. I like the taste, but then I like the taste of green healthy foods. Still each time I have it, I am troubled that part of its intended goodness (that I paid GOOD money for) was forfeited due to heat. I sincerely hope an ALERT can be given to the drivers to place it in the SHADE!

I don’t mind this drink but my kids hate it. They will drink the chocolate flavor though, chocolate is definitely better. The green drinks give us energy to run our small business in the evening when it’s too late for caffeine.

So we tried this and I have tried greens before and not liked them. So I thought I would try the chocolate but add them to smoothies or shakes. I know I’m making it less healthy but it’s more about getting these nutrients in my children. So we did vanilla ice cream, a little milk, fresh cherries and one banana and a scoop of this. It tasted like a banana split shake and it was very tasty. I don’t think I would want to add more than one scoop because I could taste the chocolate enough. Adults and kids liked it both. They wanted more so I’ll make more tonight.

I ordered this on Prime at 10pm and received it the next morning by 6am! That is fast. I ordered the Chocolate based on reviews. This version does have Stevia, which does have an aftertaste, but without it, I think it would be very bitter. I may try the non stevia version just as a comparison. I added Spinach and half a frozen banana, over almond milk, and the taste was good! I have ordered Shilajit, Frankincense, Noni and spirulina all of which taste TERRIBLE. Seriously difficult to choke down, so when you combine ingredients that are inherently good for you, the taste isn’t going to align with most of the items we insert into our mouths on a daily basis, so my recommendation is to go with whatever flavor palate you align with. Chocolate is good and you can add whatever you want to improve upon both the taste and nutritional intake. There were many complaints about the volume in the container, so I was pleased with the volume, see image, which was close to the top. The scoop is buried at the bottom, and there is no fishing that out without pulling most of the powder with it, so I used my measuring tablespoon and add a half more, but will reduce to one tablespoon moving forward. The scoop will reveal itself in time. All in all I am very pleased with this and looking forward to consuming this on a daily basis.

So I had originally purchased the alkalizer and detoxifier line (left container in pic) but it was way too sweet. Could not return it, but was given a refund. I purchased the one with no stevia added (the one on the right in pic) and it has half the amount as the one on the left, but both products say they serve “about 30 servings” …. What the heck!!! They were the same price as well. Not cool GOL! I only took one star off because they do carry great products and I love their ingredients. But to give me half the amount as the alkalizer and detoxifier line, but yet pay the same price and it tell me that it serves the same amount? Not okay.
