SCM-1148L

SCM-1148L 148 lb Multifunctional home gym

The SCM-1148L has more accessories. Its unique leg exercise pedal can shape the leg and hip muscle groups more comprehensively.

The steel surface is coated using a powder coating process that is non-lead and non-formaldehyde. Powder coating is superior to the painting process in terms of mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, etc. The cost is higher than the painting process.

Strong Steel

SincMill Home Gym insists on using steel that is ≥1.5mm thickness. Home gyms with steel thicknesses ≤ 1mm are cheap but weak and dangerous.

First of all, the TL;DR of this review is that I found the whole set to be good but not great. Depending on your height you will have a lot of difficulty finding full range of motion especially with the leg press, extension, and leg curl. The quality of the machine is overall good and I would recommend it ONLY for absolute beginners, people shorter than 5’8″, and people not weighing more than 350lb for safety.Let me start by saying that I am about 5’6″, 180lb, and I have very limited experience with working out. I am still a novice at workouts but I know what “feels” right when performing an exercise. So, please keep that in mind when I describe my limitations in this review.Moving on to the shipment and building process. All four boxes arrived at the same time days earlier than what I was originally expecting them to come. The boxes were a little beat up but all the parts inside were seemingly none the worse for wear. I built this whole set over the course of two nights for a combined total of 6hrs including the time it took to add lubrication to pulley wires and joints for best movement. I built it by myself with my own tools and I would recommend that if you were to build this to have a friend help you when attaching the top bar. The instructions provided with the set are straightforward and the pictures are better than the written instructions especially when it came time to set up the pulley wires. Initially I one of the pulleys one peg too low which cause the whole resistance to be off but once I raised it I had optimal resistance. But what about using the set?Beginning at the top, the lateral pull down was too short for even me. I did not use a chain like you may see on the product images above because even just hooked straight onto the cable the lateral pulldown bar provided no resistance at the top which forced me to lean a little more back than I normally need to when using commercial gym lat pull down machines. Using the provided adjustable hand grip attachments I was able to get a very good feeling triceps pull down, face pulls, and triceps extension exercises from the machine with just low weights.Next the chest press, flys, and rows. The chest exercises were about just right. I had to raise the seat two the second hole to be able to exercise my chest rather than my shoulders when doing chest presses and flys although once again I felt that tension was being released too early before I even had the arms pulled back to resting position. One of my major complaints about the whole set is that the seat is not adjustable forward or backwards which I felt could have resolve a large part of my range of motion issues I experienced. Such as when I tried doing upper seated rows but could perform them well because the only way I could keep enough distance to let my arms extend to stretch my back muscles was to sit way back almost on the leg cushions.Next are the lower body sections of the set. I was really excited to use this particular set because of the leg press, extension, and curl parts of the machine. Unfortunately, this is the part that let me down the most. When you see the pictures of these fine gentlemen demonstrating the leg press attachment on many of the machines you see on this sight you may notice that their legs look almost completely extended while at rest. It’s because they are. I found that if I sat normally in the seat my legs would be 3/5ths of the way extended out before even pressing which only provided at most a half rep of what could be considered a good leg press. I needed to scooch myself down to where most of my lower back was on the bottom part of the seat to be in the correct position to perform a full range of motion leg press with tension remaining in the hamstrings, quads, and glutes. Furthermore, to my shock, I felt that the 160lb limit was too light to use the leg press for anything other than high rep sets. The leg extension was almost fine but I still needed to sit up further in the seat, my back off of the back rest, to have my legs keep tension for more than half the movement. The leg curls were a nightmare to adjust to. I needed to lean on the handle bars, push back with the leg that was going to perform the exercise with but plant the other leg much more forward to brace myself to perform the movement without the leg cushion rolling under my shoe at the bottom and top of the movement.Lastly are the bottom attachments. The rows may have been the most straightforward exercise of the whole set and I have the least to say as it worked just fine. However, using the same lower cable to perform a bicep curl and modified RDL were not as uneventful. At just 70lb of selected resistance I was lifting up the entire front end of the set when performing curls and a modified RDL lift using the lateral pulldown bar. I used a weighted vest in the seat to help reduce the amount it was lifted but I still felt the need to stand directly on the bar slightly to keep the set steady while using the lower attachment when performing these exercises. As you may have gathered from this review so far, I was not overall satisfied with my purchase and I decided to return this set. I was very nervous about completing this return and after only using it for nearly 3 weeks I considered if it was worth returning due to the size, complexity of disassembly, and repackaging. Thankfully, I was able to reach out to the seller of this particular set and this is where the 5 star review comes in. I used amazon’s message seller feature and within an hour was in contact with the seller who was empathetic to the struggle that I faced with their product. I am happy to say that through discussing with them my dilemma I was able to be provided with a very satisfactory solution to complete my return and received a full refund without any issues.I do fully believe that this gym set is of good quality, can provide good resistance and adequate exercise but with a few caveats. I do not believe that any over the height of 5’8″ or over the weight of 350lbs would be able to use this set without having worse range of motion issues. I believe that if you are considering this set you must be aware that this set will work better if you plan to use it for high reps (15-30), high sets (5+), at lower weights (60%-80% of your working sets). Mixing in a little bit of free weight exercises as well as some body weight exercises along with this machine can provide a decent workout routine for a good price value especially when this set is being sold on sale. If you are a brand new beginner with no experience at all this set can be a solid starting point but I encourage anyone looking for more resistance, heavier weights, or more strength training oriented plans to consider before buying this review. So overall I would rate the quality of this set to be a pretty solid 4 stars for exercise equipment. For beginners this set could be what you need but for the more experienced or for people who want something more similar to what is available in commercial gyms I would say consider other options. Once again, I give this product a 5 star review only because of the wonderful customer service I was provided by the seller despite my issues with the set.Respectfully,An Amazon Bargain Hunter

My husband bought me this as a Mother’s Day gift since I have been going to the gym for about 9 months now consistently and with summer approaching I’ll be home with the kids full time and it’ll be more challenging for me to get to the gym with them. This set is pretty easy to assemble, while it definitely is time consuming with so many moving parts the instructions lay assembly out very easily. Took me and hubby probably about 3-4 hours total to assemble, he helped up until the pulley system had to be installed as he had to work and I finished it out myself today. The things I love about this setup are the versatility in exercises that you can do on this machine, it truly covers pretty much everything that I do at the gym now which is perfect as this will be how I go to the “gym” over the summer. I love the attachments that come with it and the ability to move things around easily. I did my first workout on it today and it was a full upper body day for me and I can say my arms are dead afterwards! The only cons I have noticed so far is the seat is a little wobbly when raised up and not at the lowest setting, I’m a short person so I have to have the seat raised up, this doesn’t affect my ability to workout I just don’t necessarily like that it wobbles on me. Same goes for the backrest it is also a bit wobbly when leaning back at first, once I’m doing chest presses or flys though it stays pretty well put with the pressure.Overall this is a great home gym for the price and it takes up minimal space for the amount of versatility it has. I am super happy with this setup and look forward to continuing to make my gains from the comfort of my own home! I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone who wants a home gym that can do it all!

First of all I must mention the assembly as I’ve seen a few different takes and I’ll share mine. Putting this together takes time. If you’ve heard a time estimate from anyone under 4 hours I’d say to double it if you’re on own unless you’re some super high energy person who can blast through this kind of thing with no rest or someone like that. I’ve put together a ton of stuff in my day and I’m no slouch and suffer under no illusions, I just want to be real here according to my own experience. Unpacking it alone took over an hour.In terms of putting it together there’s nothing that complicated about the job, just that there are so many parts and steps. I did ask for help with the cabling system and that went faster with another set of hands on the job to help put together all the pulleys and to thread the cable, it’s quite an elaborate setup and I recommend you get help for that, although not undoable on your own, it’s just way more ideal to have someone around for that part.Nothing was that hard, all parts fit and holes were drilled properly, it’s just a lot of parts. I strongly urge you to have a socket set on hand for this project, although not required and the included tools will get the job done you will save yourself much work and time. What I did appreciate was the crystal clear labelling on the hardware packs and the video from the manufacturer that was so well made and easy to follow. Without the video on while building this it would have been a much harder task, seriously, watch the video and I wish more manufacturers went that route for their products. The build quality and stability of this unit once assembled is high in my opinion, I feel safe and stable using it and everything works the way I expect it to. A variety of exercises can be performed on this and the provided attachments are enough to get you a very decent full body workout. There is a provided poster of the various moves that’s helpful, but no video content for this particular model of anyone performing a workout, which isn’t that big of a deal as there are loads from people with similar machines you can follow along with if you’re learning. I’m happy to have this here at home now and use it 5 days a week. It actually inspires me to use it because I find it such a great fit for me and my needs personally. The unit provides serious resistance so don’t just look at the number of the poundage for the weight stack you have to keep in mind the amount of force and work you do to move the weight is applied differently due to the way the cable system works. For example my son, college athlete type, wasn’t too impressed looking at the poundage and came to work out on this feeling very confident he’d be able to push the whole stack as he can do much more weight in the gym on the machines he uses. However when he went to attempt his normal weight he was humbled and had to move to only half the weight to do his set. That’s hard to explain so I hope I was able to get the point across. What I’m saying is that due to the physical work and force requirements you’re pushing/pulling more than you may think and the provided weight might be more than enough for you to work through, of course depending on your level of strength. At the end of the day I’m just really appreciative of this Gym from SincMill and very happy to have it here as a part of my home gym. Especially for back day! I can’t think of a single complaint but only one caveat, being that if you’re a tall person you might not get the most out of your purchase. We’re not a tall household here and this format is more ideal for us. Between 5′ 2″ and 5′ 7″ this form factor is our size so I’d say to keep that in mind. Not that it’s unusable if you’re taller, just that it might not be ideal for you if you are. This is a great gym for smaller spaces on the flip side of that caveat. Very well pleased with my purchase and I expect this unit to last for a good long while around here due to it’s high quality manufacture.

Wanted an efficient home gym that didn’t take up too much space. This is a nice size for the amount of different ways you can exercise on it. I especially appreciate the variety of leg exercises. Not too wide or long. I think the price is very reasonable too. Took me and my 9 year old son about 6 hours to put together. We had one misstep with the pulleys but didn’t get too far before we realized our mistake and it was easy to correct. The video helps a lot. Very solid and cable/pulleys run smoothly while exercising. Seat, back rest and arm rest are well padded and sturdy. Overall really happy I bought this vs joining a gym.

My son and I started this project at noon today. We finished at 5 taking no breaks. It does take a good bit of time to install. We had about 3-4 incidents where we installed a piece incorrectly and had to move around but that was my own error and nothing that took more than 5 minutes to adjust. We did not necessarily need any additional tools but we had a dog bone and a wrench set to help get all bolts tight tight. The package came with all necessary tools. The directions are a bit confusing when installing the pulleys so take your time to thoroughly read them and understand what the directions are showing. I’m not an avid gym user but for my son and I this seems like a good home option. I like the versatility and the options for movement. I like there is a YouTube video for user interface. Price was worth it to me after installing today.

I recently purchased the Home Gym Multifunctional Full Body Home Gym Equipment for Home Workout Equipment multifunctional home gym equipment, and I’ve been using it for almost 6 months. As someone who values fitness and prefers working out at home, I’ve found this piece of equipment to be a game-changer for my home workouts. The first thing that impressed me about this home gym equipment is its build quality. It’s made of sturdy materials and feels incredibly durable. I’ve put it through some rigorous workouts, and it has held up without any issues. What I love most about this machine is its versatility. It offers a wide range of exercise options, allowing me to target different muscle groups effectively. Whether it’s upper body, lower body, or core workouts, this equipment has me covered. The adjustable features, such as benches and pulley systems, make it easy to switch between exercises quickly.Considering its multifunctionality, I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t take up as much space as I expected. It fits comfortably in my home gym area, leaving enough room for other equipment or exercises. In terms of value for money, this home gym equipment is a solid investment. While it might be a bit pricier than some alternatives, the quality, versatility, and durability justify the cost. It’s a long-term fitness solution that I believe will pay off in the long run.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the Home Gym SCM-1148L 148LB Multifunctional Full Body Home Gym Equipment for Home Workout Equipment Exercise Equipment Fitness Equipment SincMill home gym equipment. It has become the centerpiece of my home workouts, and I’ve seen noticeable improvements in my strength and fitness level since using it. If you’re serious about your home workouts and want a versatile, durable, and user-friendly piece of equipment, I highly recommend giving this one a try.!!

So this machine can be great, if all you want to do is low weight and high reps. I’m reviewing the SCM-1160.Cons. They have the same design, which is fine, but sadly the exact same materials as the SCM-1148, so the added weight plates is more then this machine can actually handle. when I use the Front Press or Lat Pull at the 130lb weight plate or heavier, then the entire top and middle bar start to flex and I have no doubt they will begin to warp in time. The leg press at this weight has a similar effect on the bottom bar and leg press attachment. The actual resistance in the weights does not match the weight of the plates, which is great because its actually more resistance then listed. On the bench press I would estimate maybe 190 – 200 lb of resistance at max plates. For reference I’m 5′ 8″ at 175lb and max out at 210 on the bench press. I can not max out on about half of the workouts I try to do without the machine flexing and starting to bend.Pros. My wife loves it though. it’s perfect for her and she is using it daily. It was easy to set up and the instructions were not difficult to follow, just get your own ratchet because the provided wrench was not great. You can do a wide variety of exercises and switching between them is easy enough and can be done within the 1m rest period between sets.Overall I gave this 3 stars because it is a really good machine for someone of smaller stature who does not need to use the highest weights. I took off the 2 stars because the quality is not meant for the quantity. It is very misleading because I bought a 160lb stack machine and I can only use a portion of that stack safely. It can be dangerous if the machine breaks with that much weight hanging.

I found a few spots where a bit of clarification might ease confusion:Part #22, the guide rods, are the same at both ends so it doesn’t matter which end goes up.Part #81 is a black rubber bushing; there are a lot on the fourth cardboard of parts. You start needing them before you get to that cardboard, in case you wonder where they are before you get there.Part #*82 is a big black buggy bumper sized thing that goes at the bottom of the weight stack; each is about 2” in diameter. Pictures don’t portray them accurately size-wise.Part #86 is a carabiner. It’s called a gourd hook, a clip hook, and a spring hook in the assembly manual and on p. 22, in the same sentence, called two different things. It’s a carabiner.Part #101 maintains tension on the cables when no weight has been selected. Tip: if you’re using the machine with low weight, and you find that the selection rod’s come out of the stack when you are lowering the weight, just lift a little bit and it should go back in.Part #103, foam roll tube, is metal and used for the leg exercise foam rolls to fit on (there are two of them). Tip: Slide the foam rolls on with a twisting motion, and back up the roll a tiny bit to seat it against the end cap after you’ve put on the cap.Part #106, strap, is in the box just to mess with you. It doesn’t get used (I searched the .pdf version of the manual; no stated purpose).Part #4, handles for the press/butterfly, may need one end trimmed to accommodate the carabiner assemblies you use to attach the single straps (#87). These are attached in step 14. I used scissors to trim the handle foam flush with the ends. When you place the base frame with the attached rear stabilizer and guide rods, make sure you leave enough room to be able to place the preacher curl cushion assembly on one of the storage posts on the stabilizer. I placed the support, then put the cushion against it and moved the frame out until it fit. If you can’t put it that far from the wall, be aware that using the storage post may be impossible. Step 2: do NOT forget plate (#24) on the bottom of the vertical frame piece. Trust me on this.Wait on step 4, #3 until after you place the pulley that sits at the top of the weight stack guide rods. Otherwise, part 91 will block your view and get in your way and you’ll have to undo it.You can leave step 6, #s 2 and 3 (putting in the seat and back supports) until you attach the supports to the pads later. Tip: you can get another inch of room with the back support placed directly against the upright. To keep it from rattling around, I used a plastic wedge (you can get them in packages of 12 or so at hardware stores) and snapped off the excess and used a file on the rough edge. No wobble in the back.REVIEW: There are things that could be improved in the manual (like the aforementioned ‘carabiner of many names’ issue). My biggest gripe is that step 11, which is the installation of the longest cable, doesn’t have a clear enough view of the cable path for the 6th and 7th pulleys (F and G) and that the directions refer to the pulleys not by letter, as in the path diagram, but by number. This is an editing issue much like the carabiner part. A good way to eliminate that would be to have an editor assemble the thing using the manual. ; )Aside from that, assembly was easy, and I think it could have been done by one person (my housemate and I assembled, so it was faster, especially the second time after my reassembly after removing and replacing the weight stack). I have no sense of the machine as poorly constructed; it seems very solid and the welds all look good, and the few cosmetic blips were minor. It’s in my garage, not my living room, so I don’t really care about a few small paint scrapes. I’d recommend it.

I bought this machine back in January of 2024, decided to wait a while before doing a review to make a rational decision based on performance. To start, I am 5’9″ 187 lbs and the only semi problem I have is using the leg press. My knees have to go to my chest just about to be able to get into position. I could easily see someone that’s 6′ and taller having problems with the leg press in particular.Aside from the leg press, it seems as though the actual weight is heavier than the true weight. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the pulley system just not being as well made. For reference, I rep tricep pushdowns at 70 lb and it feels tough, however at a physical therapy office, I can do 120 on their machine and it feels very different and much smoother. It could be worse, could feel lighter than what it says.I’ve used this machine daily for the last 8 months and the only flaw I’ve had was the cable connecting to the top of the weights had come undone and unthreaded itself. I thought it snapped but it was easy to reinstall.Lastly, I’ve noticed if you’re using a lower weight, say about 20 lbs, and you pull too high, the weights tend to get stuck at an angle and require you to pull a bit more and break them free. I’ve never had this problem over 20 lbs though. Not too much of a concern for me but I could see it being annoying for people using lesser weight more frequently. No other issues have come about, this machine is sturdy and resilient. Using it daily, I never have any problems. It’s my go-to for chest and arm days and the quad raises are fantastic on it with adjustable heights on the seat and the back rest.If you’re gonna build this alone, definitely give yourself a few hours to do so and I can’t stress it enough, watch the YouTube video for a step by step painless process. It has the green components in the video, that’s how you know it’s the right one. About 6 and a half minutes long give or take. I finished building this in about 3 hours in total and it wasn’t nearly as painful as I thought it was going to be. All in all, would definitely recommend this product!
